Gaelic
Ceòlas is a Gaelic organisation. We have been delivering educational events and activities relating to Gaelic culture, language and heritage for over twenty years. The majority of Ceòlas activities are Gaelic-medium or contain a high degree of Gaelic language content, such as the regular heritage and local culture symposia and many staff and board members are Gaelic-speakers from the local community. Gaelic culture, heritage, music and language are at the heart of the work of Ceòlas, its members and the community in which it is situated.
One of Ceòlas’ key ambitions is to advance as a provider of Gaelic language learning. In order to achieve this goal, a series of development objectives have been identified:
- Community learning
- Gaelic Immersion courses
- Teacher training
- Community resource
- Gaelic language usage
