Ceòlas: Its Influence on my Playing Style & Musicianship

Thursday 11 July at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free – £5.00

Ciar Milne explores how his annual visits to the Ceòlas Summer School between 2008 and 2019 have influenced his piping and musicianship.

Ciar Milne is a highland piper and bellows piper from Dundee. He has recently completed the Piping Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating with a First Class Honours Degree. In his final year, he spent his time researching the playing styles of South Uist and Cape Breton piping. Throughout the duration of his degree, he gained a wealth of performance experience which has greatly developed his musicianship. Through playing with the McLarenMilne Duo and the Kinnoull Ceilidh Band, he continues to perform regularly throughout Scotland.

This talk will be delivered in English.
