Ceòlas have the following vacancies in our staff team:


The creative vision of Ceòlas is to provide an authentic and unparalleled opportunity to experience a rich living tradition within a vibrant Gaelic landscape. The group seeks to celebrate traditional music, language, culture and heritage, collaborating with local, national and international communities on the island and through a range of digital channels.

In our work, we:

  • putting Gaelic and the culture of the language at the centre of everything we do;
  • advocating on behalf of the community, promoting both economic and social development, attracting visitors from around the world and creating a range of diverse opportunities;
  • the provision of high-quality education from world-class professional artists, ensuring regionally-led learning in a range of subjects;
  • presenting our work to the local community and around the world through online streaming;
  • maintaining and strengthening international links between South Uist (Scotland) and Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and continuing to communicate with other Celtic diaspora;
  • share our skills in networking and facilitating the promotion of events for other groups in the arts such as theatre, music, dance and film;
  • from our home in Cnoc Soilleir, purpose-built, through specialist supply, innovation and collaborative growth, to be a catalyst and beacon for regeneration through the arts in Uist

We are currently looking to appoint a Company Director to our board from the membership of the organisation, in accordance with the foundation requirements as specified in our company articles. The position is voluntary. The director would work alongside the existing directors, for an initial period of three years, to support the vision, goals and objectives of the organization through our Strategic Action Plan from 2024 -29. The board of directors works closely with the organization’s CEO.

Based on our current network of skills, we would particularly appreciate hearing from people with experience in finance and/or HR.
