Sarah MacKay

Sarah is a local young woman who after spending several years on the mainland returned home to South Uist in June 2017. She is employed by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and is part of the management team in the local care home. Sarah has grown up in a culture of Gaidhlig and traditional music. Sarah competed at the Royal National Mod on numerous occasions and taught Gaidhlig singing classes for Feis Tir a’Mhurain prior to leaving for her studies. She also assists her father on the croft and hopes once her daughter is old enough, she too will continue the inherited wealth of traditions that has been handed down over many generations.
