Pàdruig Morrison

About Pàdruig:

On the small Hebridean island of Grimsay, Pàdruig Morrison was brought up surrounded by the culture, the music and the language of the Gaels. Pàdruig grew up with a rich inheritance from the Gaelic oral tradition, and since an early age has strived to develop his music to new and old styles in classical and traditional music.

Pàdruig plays as part of several ensemble including Causeway Trio, finalists of the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award, and six-piece ceilidh-folk band Beinn Lee who play at festivals, ceilidhs and weddings across Scotland.

In 2020 he was a BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year Finalist, and also received a commission from Celtic Connections for a New Voices concert. He is currently a PhD researcher in composition at Maynooth University.
