Ceòlas’ chair Mary T MacInnes has numerous roles within the local community relating to education, Gaelic language and adult learning. Mary is headteacher of Sgoil an Ìochdair and has wide experience in development communities, local authority representative on the Scottish Government group, Gaelic Learners in the Primary School, a member of 1+2 language learning in the Western Isles, a tutor for staff training and moderation projects with Education Scotland and a Leading member of Uist Core Learning Interests Group. Mary has also sat on the board of a number of national organisations such as the Scottish Arts Council and MG Alba. Previous roles within the community include: Committee member of Co-chomunn an Ìochdair and Iochdar Hall Building Committee, founding member of Cothrom and founder member and development worker for Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain. She is a Chair of Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
