About Màiri:

Mary T MacInnes has had numerous roles within the local community relating to education, Gaelic language and adult learning. Mary was headteacher of Sgoil an Ìochdair and has a wide range of experience in community development.

Mary has also sat on the board of a number of national organisations such as the Scottish Arts Council and MG Alba.

Previous roles within the community include: Committee member of Co-chomunn an Ìochdair and Iochdar Hall Building Committee, founding member of Cothrom and founder member and development worker for Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain.

Mary was chair of Ceòlas from 2001 to 2023, overseeing its development as a standalone organisation, helping to secure the construction of Cnoc Soilleir and the appointment of Ceòlas’ first Ceannard. She stepped down as chair in 2023 but continues to be a member of the board. She is currently chair of Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
