Às an Tobar, Uist’s book festival now in its third year, will run between the 17th and 22nd of November across Uist.
17 Nov, 7pm, Kildonan Museum: STEALL is Scotland’s Gaelic literary magazine published by CLÀR, featuring some of the language’s leading writers. Gillebrìde MacMillan, the magazine’s editor, will join Mòrag Anna ‘icNèill and Liam Alastair Crouse in an informal taigh-cèilidh of readings and music. (Gaelic-medium event.)
18 Nov, 7pm, Kildonan Museum: Uibhist a Deas, a narrative account of the present and past history and folklore by Donald John MacDonald (Dòmhnall Iain Dhonnchaidh) is being republished by Acair. This event will draw to a close the 100th year anniversary of the bard’s birth in 1919 and will feature readings, song, music and light refreshments. (Gaelic-medium event.)
