Originally born in Edinburgh, Robbie Greig has family connections to South Uist and grew up in a household where Gaelic culture and music was strong. He attended Tollcross Primary in the Gaelic stream, taking part in the local fèis and Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin’. He attended Colaisde a’ Chaisteil Bheinn na Faoghla from the age of 16, and received a diploma in Gaelic Media from Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. He teaches at fèisean throughout Scotland and occasionally tours abroad with the Paul McKenna Band, Malinky and Talisk. More recently, he eas chosen to be the inaugural winner of the 2017 Niel Gow Scottish Fiddle Award at Blair Castle.
