Catrìona MacIntyre was born and brought up in an t-ìochdar in South Uist and although she has lived and worked in the Lochaber area for almost forty years, she considers herself to be ‘Uibhisteach’ through and through.
Catrìona has recently retired from a career in education with the latter part spent in developing, teaching and supporting Gaelic medium pre-school and primary education in Highland schools.
Catrìona very much enjoys helping interested students (of any age!) to increase their Gaelic language skills and this year she is being Inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music ‘Trad Awards’ Hall of Fame. Catrìona is on the Ceòlas Board of Directors and is the principle tutor for the Ceòlas Gaelic classes.
