Who will benefit from Cnoc Soilleir

We are confident that Cnoc Soilleir will have huge benefits for Uist

Cnoc Soilleir will enable us to increase to the number of high-quality music, dance and other cultural events throughout the year – by 2022 there will be ten new ceolas events delivered from Cnoc Soilleir

Cnoc Soilleir will increase the number of visitors to Uist and will promote Gaidhlig culture and heritage – by 2022 the winter festival and summer school will attract over 2000 visitors to the island.

Cnoc Soilleir will increase the number of jobs in Uist – by 2022 there will be 41 new, full-time equivalent jobs directly and indirectly created by this project.

Cnoc Soilleir will enable Lews Castle College UHI to expand their current music course delivery and to delivery additional creative industry courses throughout the year – by 2022 there will be six new accredited creative industry courses offered in Uist.

Cnoc Soilleir will attract more students to study in Uist – in 2022 there will be 96 students resident in Uist.

By providing jobs and education opportunities Cnoc Soilleir will help reverse population decline – by 2022 there will be 91 new people living permanently in Uist as a result of this project.
