Welcome to Ceòlas!  The Island home of music, song and dance in the Gaelic Community of South Uist.  Ceòlas runs many different events and activities throughout the year including symposiums, lectures, concerts, dances, recordings, walks, cooking demonstrations, publishing, Theatre, Art exhibitions, film festivals etc..as well as supporting all visiting artists. The flagship event of  Ceòlas is the music and dance Summer School which begins every 1st Sunday of July featuring expert tuition in singing, piping, fiddling, Scotch reels and Quadrilles, step dancing and the Gaelic language.  Ceòlas explores the vital connections between the many traditional music genres, fortifying and encouraging this precious living tradition.

NEW CD  ‘Gaoth an Iar’ A recording of songs that were collected during the Ceòlas EOST project which involved Gillebride MacMillan, Naomi Harvey and Jo MacDonald. Gillebride put this CD together with the help of Matheu Watson who recorded, mixed and mastered it. Amongst the 20 tracks on the CD includes Gillebride singing  along with many other Uist singers.
